Welcome Parents and Students:

Hello Parents and Students:
I would like to welcome everyone to my new classroom.  It has been a very busy summer, but I am regenerated and ready for a great school year.  I have been working throughout the summer preparing for the new school year.  I have attended professional development classes, packed up my Plat classroom and set-up the new classroom at Richfield.  I am excited to work with many of my previous students this year in 3rd grade.

For those of you who don't know my background -  I have been teaching for over the past 20 years.  I have been with the Richfield School District for the past 9 years.  I enjoy being part of the # 1 school district in Wisconsin and living in the Richfield community.  I am proud to be a part of the community's success.  I am a seeker of knowledge and use what I learn to help my students achieve success in their educational journey.  I believe you are never done learning and it is important to motivate all students to be life-long learners, too.

On a more personal note I have been married for 16 years and have two wonderful children.  My son, Jeffrey, is starting high school and is a sports fanatic. He participates in 3 different sports throughout the year, besides working hard in school.  My daughter, Bailey, is starting middle school.  She is very excited and a little apprehensive about the move to the bigger school.  However, I know she will do well.  She is excited to see all her friends and get back to work.  They keep me very busy when I am not working with your children.  They are growing so fast - sometimes I wish I could just slow life down!

As a family, we spent most of the summer with extended family.  We spent time in International Falls, MN and in Northern Wisconsin visiting friends and family, went skiing and tubing and fishing when the lake wasn't overly choppy!  We spent time on the baseball/softball fields.  I actually helped coach my daughters team this year.  We finished up summer activities at Six Flags.  It was a relaxing and fun summer.  I enjoyed all the time with my family and very thankful for all the experiences we were able to do together. However, I am now ready to get back to work and see all the familiar faces of my students.

I am always available through email or by phone if you have questions or concerns.  I am only your child's teacher for a year or two.  You are their teacher for life.  I value your input and my classroom door is always open.  On that note -- If anyone is interested in volunteering please let me know.  I am looking for volunteers

picto start around October in the classroom.

Thanks and let’s have a great year!!!
