Nathan Heinritz

Physical Education – Mr. Heinritz

Welcome to gym class! My name is Nathan Heinritz and I am excited to start my first year of teaching at Plat Elementary School. I grew up in Pewaukee, WI and graduated from New Mexico State University in May of 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. I look forward to working with an incredible staff, supportive parents, and excellent 5K through 2nd grade students.

My wife, Shannon, and I live in St. Lawrence (Hartford area) and are happy to be near friends and family again. For the past three and a half years, we resided in the Southwest region of the country. While living in Flagstaff, Arizona, a beautiful mountain town, I worked as a lifeguard, water aerobics instructor and as a K-8th grade Physical Education teacher. After Flagstaff, we ended up in the desert of Las Cruces, New Mexico where the two seasons are hot and hotter. Camping, hiking, and adventuring at nearby National Parks certainly was the highlight of our time in the Southwest. Even though the Southwest was fun, we are thrilled to be back in the great state of Wisconsin, where the trees, lakes, and Packer fans are abundant.

As an athlete, I competed in football, wrestling, and track during high school and continued track in college. Nowadays, I’m always up for a game of Ultimate Frisbee, a round of disc golf, or kayak fishing. My wife and I also enjoy spending time with our dog (Cardigan Welch Corgi) named Chili Pepper. This year at Plat Elementary School, I will be continuing the Fuel Up to Play 60 and Jump Rope for Heart programs. Some units students will experience in class this year include: basketball, soccer, dance, bowling, and more. I look forward to an amazing 2015-2016 school year!
