Our Behavior System

Ask me how my day was! J

At Plat Elementary we all come to school “Ready to Learn” each day! If we make good choices by helping a friend, being kind, following directions, doing our work when asked, etc, we are rewarded by moving our magnets up to “Good Day.” If we continue to do a “Great Job,” and keep doing all the right things or above and beyond helpful things, we end up on top of our Behavior chart!

In the event that we forget to follow our classroom or school rules, we may move our magnets down to “Think About It,” so we slow down, realize what we were doing that caused a problem, and change our behavior so that we are back and ready to learn! If we continue to cause a problem for others, our names can slip down to “Parent Contact” so that we can let our Moms and Dads know the problem. We will fill out a Parent Contact think sheet, that will let you know what the trouble was, why our magnet moved, and what we promise to do in the future. Parents, students, and teacher will all sign and discuss this sheet. Mrs. Thurin will keep them when we return them.

We will also be filling out a daily behavior sheet so that you can see each night what color we end up on. Parents will sign this at the end of the week. At the end of each month, if we were on green or higher for the whole month, we will have earned a special surprise! J So, Mom and Dad, ask my how my day was! We will be happy to tell you! :)
